Rock River Center Plans Local Heritage Trip
Have you ever taken a ride through Ogle and Lee Counties and wondered about the many towns and villages? How old is the town of Byron? Who were the first settlers in Leaf River? What is the story of Ronald Reagan’s life in Dixon? Where is the “Walgreen House”? Interested in answers????
Join us for our first “LOCAL HERITAGE” day trip as we visit the Byron and Leaf River Museums. Both museums will be providing staff to present some of their history and answer questions.
We will leave from Rock River Center at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 23rd, tour the Byron Museum, have lunch at Sam’s Drive-In, tour the Leaf River Museum, and return to RRC about 3:00 p.m.
The cost of this trip is $10.00 for Rock River Center Members and $12.00 for non-members. This fee includes transportation, tours and lunch. Reservations are required due to limited space. To register, please come in or call Rock River Center at 815-732-3252 by Friday, May 18th.
