| Prairie State Legal Services is expanding its services for older adults. Prairie State Legal Services has named Ellen Samuel as the staff attorney responsible for legal services for persons 60 and older in this service area. Increased funding from Northwestern Illinois Area Agency on Aging enabled Prairie State to create an attorney position focused exclusively on services for older adults.These services include legal representation of older adults who have been abused or exploited; nursing home issues, assistance in preparation of power of attorney documents or other advance directives, help for homebound seniors who are facing loss of services, financial issues due to medical debts, denial of government income benefits; and many other problems.
