Volunteer Services

The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” -Mahatma Gandhi

Rock River Center welcomes volunteers of all ages. Our goal is to make volunteering a positive experience, while helping the agency meet the needs of older adults and families.

All individuals are asked to complete an application and provide references. A screening process insures the safety of those we serve; and all volunteers, acting upon agency direction, are provided coverage under the agency liability policy. Job descriptions are provided. With the help of volunteers, Rock River Center is able to assist more than 3000 older adults each year.

Whether you are able to give one hour per week or one hour per month, we have a volunteer position for you!

Various current volunteer opportunities:

Reception & Office Aides - These priceless volunteers provide office support, with a smile by answering phones, greeting visitors, and taking registrations.

Newsletter assembly - With more than 50 volunteers, come help prepare the bi-monthly newsletter for mailing. Make new friends, too!

Boot Scootin' Seniors - A really fun and active group! This group provides entertainment at area long term care facilities and other locations.

Lend A Hand - These volunteers assist with minor tasks in the homes of area seniors.

Special projects - We are always looking for volunteers to assist us in teaching classes, decorating, parties, mailings, etc. Stop by and let's talk!
